Now you have to pass a quiz to contact us
We have been having some problems with spammers lately: they used the forms in the website to spam us, and messing up our databases in the process. The best way to stop this is to use a captcha system that makes you input a word read from a distorted image, but we thought it will be better (and easier for us, as captcha requires installing stuff in the server) to make you pass a quiz on physics… Hopefully everything will be fine.
Funding news: ESF will fund the conference
Big news today! The European Science Foundation (ESF), through its programme “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Functional Electronic and Biological Materials” (INTELBIOMAT) has accepted our proposal for funding and will fund the conference, covering aroud the 12% of our prospective overall budget.
The ESF provides a platform for its Member Organisations to advance European research and explore new directions for research at the European level.
Established in 1974 as an independent non-governmental organisation, the ESF currently serves 75 Member Organisations across 30 countries.
INTELBIOMAT is an European programme of workshops, schools, and exchange visits that is targeted at the understanding, modelling and design of functional materials, bringing together different communities: materials scientists, experimentalists, and theorists.
You can follow us also in Twitter
Now you can follow our blog for conference news & updates in Twitter (if I did everything right). It’s exactly the same feed you can get by subscribing by RSS or email. If you want to follow the news about the conference it’s important that you subscribe in some way as it will be our prime way of communication.
Subscribe to our blog to be up to date
The best way to get updates on the conference is by subscribing to our blog (clicking in the icons at the right of this page). You can use either feed-reader or get the news in your email every time we post something new. We will post there any news related to the conference, but in any case the traffic will be low (plus you can unsubscribe at any time). Although for the first announcement we have send a bunch of emails (with +1000 recipients), this is not practical for several reasons: first, not everybody is interested; second, it’s pretty hard to do this kind of bulk-emailing (as it gets confussed with spam, a lot of emails bounce back, etc…). So if you are interested in the conference, please subscribe to the blog.
Abstract submission opens on Dec 15th
Abstract submission will open on December 15th. If you want to participate in the conference, you are expected to submit an abstract and contribute with a poster or a talk. Only one abstract per attendant is allowed. You can submit your abstract from December 15th using the form in this abstract submission page. Invited speakers should not fill this form and will be contacted by the organizers. After the abstract submission period is closed, you will be contacted by the organizers regarding the acceptance of your abstract and be able to register. You can check out this and other important dates here.
